A Land Named Destin

So I already wrote this blog post before right when we got back & then my computer shut down. I refuse to spend all that time again rewriting & perfecting, so you get the watered down version. My apologies! People don't really read anyway, they just want the pictures right? :)
Our extremely nice friends JR & Bianca invited us to Destin, Florida to vacation with them! Destin is one of the nicest places I've ever been to! The beach was gorgeous & it was such a relaxing vacation. We stayed at a beautiful home a few yards from the beach. We just crossed the street & we were there! We stayed in the apartment above the garage & loved our view.

On Monday we explored the house, played lots of ping pong in the garage & of course hit the beach. Normally the water in Destin is extremely calm/glassy. Today however the waves were crazy! I definitely wanted to go check it out. Rodrigo & I took bodyboards out & I have felt like less of a lady. I'm glad I didn't try to surf. That would've been terrible. As soon as I would catch a wave with the board, I went underwater. I tried to gain footing but I kept losing my balance. Right when I finally stood up, another wave would crash into me & send me soaring again back underwater. I drank so much salt water I wanted to puke. Hair was all over my face, I'm ready to vomit, & to top it off, my bottoms came down a bit. Luckily I'm pretty sure no one saw (fingers crossed.) After 30 minutes of being thrown around I decided I'd try the beach another day haha.
On Tuesday night we went to Pompano Joes. Not only was the food some of the best I've ever had, but the restaraunt was right on the ocean. Not a bad view :)

During the day on Wednesday everyone else was busy so our little family hit the beach. Camila was passed out from beginning to end. Since we weren't going to leave her there alone we each took turns laying next to her while the other enjoyed the ocean!

How little is she!
That night we went to Seaside. We explored some little shops, ate at some food trucks & finished the night enjoying some live music by the Jacob Jeffries band.

They always take selfies together...

Thursday Rodrigo went snorkeling in the morning & I got to see Clarissa! Clarissa is a friend from BYU-Idaho. We met playing on the same futsal team & became fast friends :) She's incredible & I was so glad to be hanging at her home turf! We spent the day together at the beach of course! Rodrigo stayed on the beach with Camila while Clarissa & I played in the water forever :)

Friday we went to Gulfarium. Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely love zoos. I love animals, & anytime we go on vacation Rodrigo knows we have to spend at least one day at some sort of animal attraction :) This time however, I wanted to go to the aqarium for Camila! She's at the stage where she can see better, & is especially attracted to bright colors. I wanted to see her face light up when we looked at the pretty fishes in the bright blue waters. She did not disappoint. She was so cute & mezmerized. She then proceeded to pass out while we watched the dolphin & sea lion shows :)

That night we took a million photos on the beach with JR & Bianca & watched the sunset. It was beautiful. Then we went back to the house for a night swim & pass out watching modern family! I would love to share lots of those photos but I have been warned/threatened against it. So here are a few I can show :)

Saturday was our last day :( We took lots of pictures out on the front porch that morning & then since our flight didn't leave until 8:00 pm we spent the day in Panama City. We were pretty exhausted so we went to the movie theatre to watch Guardians of the Galaxy! Great movie. After that we roamed the mall & finished with dinner at Dave & Busters! I got to see Clarissa one last time before we left :)

We're happy to be home but definitely miss waking up next to the ocean! Rodrigo leaves for his best friend's wedding tomorrow so it'll be a girls weekend for Camila & I :):) I'll leave you with more pictures of Camila & of course a couponing pic ;)

This is what happens when daddy changes her

Camila loves frozen. It can soothe any teething problems. Let it go is her favorite scene

I mean really. How cute

The house would shade the pool past 5:00 so it was a perfect time for Camila to enjoy the water :) We just let her chill on this raft for awhile. She loved it!

Got all of this for 6.50. Retail price=57.00
